ZZ Top Memphis Concert reviews
Van Morrison plays for himself, not the audience
Set up all sorts of special rules for the venue, ZZ Top did. Sparse staging, no bells and whistles, there were. No late seating, no opening act, no beer served during the performance.
Right on time, ZZ Top came out and got started with no real introduction or hello to the crowd. Proceeded through a set that only contained 2 songs I recognized, he did. All the music was good, but he definitely wasn't in the mood to do any "greatest hits" performance.
About 1 hr 15 min or 1 hr 30 min into the show, just walked off the stage, he did. Nothing, no goodbyes. The band finished out the song instrumentally.
Hoping for an encore, the crowd was, but got absolutely nothing. The lights came on and it was time to go home. I left feeling like I didn't completely get my money's worth.
